I think the defensive staff took a step backwards this offseason. Defensive coordinator Tyler Santucci, who had a middling defense last year but I think is a good football mind, left to be linebackers coach for the Baltimore Ravens. STC/CBs coach Ricky Brumfield was also fired midseason.
The replacement DC is Blake Gideon, who was the safeties coach and associate head coach for Texas and won Football Scoop’s National DBs CotY. He has no coordinating experience but I do like him. The rep…
