The worst part about playing in-state schools is I can’t really hate on them. I’m sure in college, I would have made a truly edgy joke about Ohio giving Toledo back to Michigan.

But as I grew wiser and older, I learned to respect places like Toledo. It’s a uniquely Ohio city, for better or worse. Just like Columbus.

I want to beat them, if only because the social fabric of society might collapse if the Buckeyes lose to an in-state school. Losing to Toledo, ultimately, is for the likes of …
