COACHING The Spartans lost “Coach Meat” (I know), Demetrice Martin, to take the role as secondary and defensive passing game coordinator at UCLA. His cornerbacks coaching role was filled by James Adams of Wake Forest, a very solid safeties coach in the ACC, but he is a loss. The only other move of note is hiring Jon Boyer, Oregon State’s tight ends coach, as quarterbacks coach.
